One of Many Possible Ways to Respond to Fracking in Michigan

Since May there has been a lot of talk of fracking in Michigan. Public lands are being leased, gas companies are salivating, and the usual responses are taking place. Some environmental groups are seeking a “seat at the table” (saying they want to regulate fracking – maybe with “less” toxic chemicals) while other groups are organizing ballot initiatives and petition drives (with the usual lack of success).
Recently, a group affiliated with Earth First! used direct action to actually shut down a fracking operation in Moshannon State Forest in Pennsylvania:
We need actions like this – times a thousand. And we need to remember that fracking is just the latest in a series of desperate moves undertaken by industry and those with power to preserve industrial civilization at any cost. As long as we allow this system to exist, the war on the Earth will continue.
